The Pilbara Regional Council is working in conjunction with the Pilbara Development Commission to prepare an application for FY13 Country Local Government Funding to support land deconstraint across the four member local governments.  Identifying and deconstraining land packages remains a considerable barrier to the development of affordable housing in the Pilbara, with the cost of deconstraining and servicing a new land parcel often more than three times the cost of the Perth metropolitan area.
