All four member local goverments within the Pilbara Regional Council currently manage a variety of grants across various operating and strategic initiatives. Ensuring that all available grant sources are identified, that well drafted submissions are lodged, and that funds are acquitted in a timely and robust manner remains a challenge.  The Pilbara Regional Council has proposed an FY12 project to increase the capabaility of its members to manage the grants management process.  The project encompasses preparation of a grants management strategy, detailed documentation of grants policies and preedures, development of a grants database, and drafting of an annual grants report for each member local government.
